A brief introduction

Mentalization is the imaginative act of perceiving and interpreting behaviour as connected to intentional mental states.

Developed by Peter Fonagy and Anthony Bateman, MBT is a structured psychotherapy that supports the capacity to make sense of oneself and others. It has the strongest evidence base for borderline personality disorder, and growing application across adolescent, family and group settings.
